Overview

Nestled in the vibrant district of Diliman, Quezon City, Andy's Famous Batangas Lomi & Bulalo stands as a humble yet authentic beacon for lovers of Filipino comfort food. The brand’s core identity thrives on delivering traditional Batangas flavors, especially in their celebrated lomi and hearty bulalo dishes. If you seek a genuine taste of provincial Filipino cuisine in Metro Manila, this spot deserves your attention.

The menu showcases a well-curated selection, placing the spotlight on Batangas-style lomi—rich, thick noodle soup brimming with generous cuts of meat and balanced perfectly by fresh vegetables and a flavorful broth. Their Super Lomi Big is a hearty bowl that satiates even the most robust appetites, making it a standout for noodle lovers. Complementing this is their bulalo, a slow-cooked marrow-rich beef stew served with crisp corn and leafy greens. The Bulalo Laman, with its ample meat portions fit for two, reflects the restaurant’s commitment to satisfying hearty cravings and fostering a communal dining experience.

Beyond the signature dishes, Andy’s also offers regional specialties like balbacua, a deeply savory beef cheek stew, and the uniquely crispy dinuguan, which marries traditional flavors with an unexpected textural twist—this alone warrants a visit. Their pancit canton and bihon celebrate classic Filipino stir-fried noodles imbued with savory seasonings, vegetables, and tender meat, adding variety for those who want to explore beyond soups and stews.

The dining space embraces a casual, no-frills atmosphere. Expect fans instead of air conditioning and simple seating that encourages relaxed, unpretentious meals. This setting suits a diverse audience—from students and office workers craving an affordable yet fulfilling lunch, to families and groups seeking traditional Filipino dishes with generous servings. The overall experience centers on the authentic flavors and value-driven dining rather than upscale ambiance.

Service at Andy’s is noted for its accommodating nature, with staff ready to assist despite the bustling environment. Though the place gets busy and seating can be limited, particularly parking, the efficient kitchen ensures your food arrives promptly. Many patrons praise the genuine warmth of the staff and the complimentary soup that starts your meal, enhancing the homey vibe.

In sum, Andy's Famous Batangas Lomi & Bulalo excels as a destination for those craving authentic Batangas lomi and bulalo in Metro Manila. It delivers a hearty, richly flavored culinary experience wrapped in simplicity and affordability. If you come for the food, your palate will be rewarded with warmth, richness, and memorable Filipino flavors rooted firmly in tradition.

I always pass by this restaurant, and finally I gave it a try. With no regret, I enjoyed their bulalo. It was very good (even on a sunny lunch); balanced, hot, and savory. Their Bulalo Laman can be good for two: huge chunks of meat, bone marrow, corn, and fresh and crunchy veggies. They do have a very good Patis here

The Super Lomi Jr. (only 105 pesos--around two dollars) changed my mind about lomi. I used to dislike it but now I believe I will start craving for this rich noodle soup from time to time. This version had a generous amount of meat, which the noodles balanced out. I also liked the pork sisig meal, which I still couldn't believe only cost 60 pesos (a little more than a dollar). For 95 pesos (almost two dollars), you can get a full order of the tasty and colorful chopsuey--mixed vegetables with bits of pork and pork liver. If you're eating with rice, make sure to ask for bulalo soup. I haven't tasted the full bulalo dish yet, but judging from the soup, it's definitely a must-try.

I'm giving it high rating just for the reasonably priced food. Their lomi is excellent. But if you came for anything else, be disappointed. It was hot, the place is not airconditioned. The chairs are uncomfortable. The staff are always busy...I called three staff for my bill and the fourth one responded. We think he's the owner. Beverages are served room temperature. Again, good luck getting the attention of the staff. Parking is at your own risk at the side of streets. But always remember, you came for the food, nothing more.

It was a great coincidence that we ate here in one rainy afternoon. I was told by my companion that this place has a great bulalo so we went here. There were 3 of us. We ordered the following Special Bulalo - good for 3 pax Sisig 6 cups of rice Ice cold Coke The food was indeed good. Their bulalo is indeed delicious. Although I had some few bad comments here. The cabbage was pale and the bone marrow was actually a little hard for us. We were expecting a slurpy bone marrow but was not satisfactory to taste. The sisig was actually delicious, it was right to my taste. I rarely approve a sisig variant but the sisig here is really good. Food 10/10 - maybe put in morr fresh cabbage next time and boil the bone marrow more. Decor 7/10 - this place need a good makeove... PRONTO Ambience 10/10 - I don't know if it was the rain or the cold weather but the place is really homey for me. I love it. Dined 7/21/22 3:30PM
